How payment works and why it is safe

Meiman holds your deposit until you check in and only then passes it to the host. That is what makes booking here different from transferring money to a stranger found on Instagram. Here is the full sequence.

1. You send a request

Choose a place and request your dates. Nothing is charged at this point.

2. The host confirms — within 6 hours

Most properties in Kyrgyzstan confirm manually: the host checks the dates and replies, and has 6 hours to do so. If there is no reply the request closes, and you lose nothing because you have not paid yet.

3. You pay the deposit — within 2 hours

After confirmation you have 2 hours to pay, otherwise the booking is cancelled automatically. Two options are available, «QR or bank app» and a Visa card — see How to pay for your booking.

4. The money stays with Meiman

The deposit does not go to the host straight away — it stays in Meiman accounts until you check in. The host receives it after your arrival, which is why the property has every reason to deliver what the listing promised.

5. You pay the balance at check-in

How much is taken as a deposit and how much is left for arrival is shown in the listing before you book — the split differs from property to property.

6. Cancellation

Cancellation and refund terms are set by each property and stated on its page. Read them before paying: some properties allow free cancellation only several days before arrival.
