What Meiman is: travel and stays across Kyrgyzstan

Meiman is a Kyrgyz online travel service. We put the whole country in one place so that a trip starts with a couple of taps instead of a chain of phone calls: fifteen hundred places to stay, from a flat in central Bishkek to a yurt on a summer pasture — and real people waiting for you there.

A country that does not fit into one route

Kyrgyzstan is generous and impractical: you cannot come «for a couple of days and see it all». Issyk-Kul in summer is warm water with mountains on the far shore. Karakol in winter is snow, a ski base and the smell of Dungan cooking. Ala-Archa is an hour from the capital — a gorge people drive to for the weekend. Osh is an ancient city at the foot of Sulaiman-Too. Arslanbob is walnut forest found nowhere else on earth. The jailoo is high pasture where an evening in a yurt smells of smoke and milk.

Where you will sleep

Hotels and aparthotels, guest houses and resorts, flats by the night, cottages for a large group, holiday parks by the water, hostels and yurts — eight types of stay. That is not a line in a presentation but eight different ways to live a trip: sometimes you want a reception desk and breakfast, sometimes a yard with a barbecue and twenty beds, sometimes felt, tea and a silence you can hear.

Everything that is usually scattered across Instagram, WhatsApp and classified ads sits in one place: the price, the amenities and the rules are visible upfront instead of being extracted from a chat. Why through Meiman and not «a friend who has a number»

The usual story here goes like this: you find a place on Instagram, send the deposit to a stranger card and hope for the best. With us it works differently. The deposit stays with Meiman until you check in and reaches the host only after you have arrived. The price and the terms are fixed in the booking, the conversation with the host stays in the chat, and if something goes wrong there is someone to write to.

How a trip goes

1. You choose a destination, dates and a place to stay.
2. You send a request — nothing is charged at this step.
3. The host confirms it within 6 hours.
4. You pay the deposit: by QR, from your own banking app or by card.
5. The rest you pay at check-in, on site.

We speak your language

The site and the iOS and Android apps work in Russian, English and Kyrgyz. Guests come from Almaty and Tashkent, from Europe and Asia — and locals who decide on a Friday evening that tomorrow they are at Issyk-Kul. Payment is what everyone here is used to: QR or a bank card.

For hosts: there is a person behind every place

Every property on Meiman was opened by someone: a family with a guest house in Bokonbaevo, a hotel manager in Bishkek, a herder who puts up yurts for the summer. Listing is free, a property goes live in 15–20 minutes, the calendar and prices stay under your control, and the commission applies only to bookings that took place. Private accommodation is added this way, properties with rooms this way, and what it costs is in Commission, plans and payouts.
