Jalal-Abad is the third largest city in Kyrgyzstan and the administrative centre of Jalal-Abad Province in the south of the country. In September 2025 the city was officially renamed Manas, in honour of the hero of the national epic. The old name will appear in maps, guidebooks and reviews for a long time — both names refer to the same city. Meiman lists places to stay in the city and the region: hotels, guest houses and short-term apartments.

Guest houses are the most common format in the city and the surrounding districts: home-cooked food, help with transfers, budget-friendly prices. Business travellers: Jalal-Abad is a major administrative and trade hub in southern Kyrgyzstan. Transit travellers heading to Osh or further toward Uzbekistan and the Pamir Highway. Visitors going to the regional hot springs, among the best known in the country, or to Sary-Chelek Biosphere Reserve about 200 km from the city.

The city centre — main infrastructure, cafes, shops, convenient without a car. Near the central market — budget options in an active commercial area. Along the main roads toward Osh and Bishkek — useful for transit stops if you are driving. Near the hot springs — small guest houses and lodges for visitors coming specifically for the therapeutic baths.
Payment and confirmation
QR is the most common payment method in Kyrgyzstan; cards are accepted too. Some properties confirm a booking right away, others are confirmed by the host after checking the dates. Once it is confirmed, you pay a deposit: Meiman holds it until you check in and only then passes it to the host; the rest is paid on arrival. After booking you can chat with the host directly to arrange check-in, parking and transfers.
