Other types of stay
An apartment is the standard short-term rental in Kyrgyz cities: cheaper than a hotel room of the same size, with a kitchen and a washing machine, and often available for same-day check-in. Meiman lists everything from studios to four-room apartments — in the capital, in the south and in the mountain towns.
Most of the choice is in Bishkek: the centre for business trips, the residential districts for longer and cheaper stays. In Osh an apartment is the usual base for work, medical trips and transit to Uzbekistan or the Pamir Highway. In Karakol it works as a base for trekking in summer and the ski season in winter. Around Issyk-Kul, cottages and resorts are the more common summer choice.
A kitchen and a washing machine pay off from the third night onwards. Separate rooms suit a family with children or two colleagues on the same trip, and for a group a two- or three-room apartment is almost always cheaper than two hotel rooms. What you give up: daily housekeeping, breakfast and a 24-hour reception.
You book directly with the host, with no agency fees. Some apartments are confirmed straight away, others once the host has checked the dates. Meiman holds your prepayment until you check in and passes it to the host only afterwards; the rest you pay on arrival. You can pay by card or by QR.
