Bosteri is the second largest place on the northern shore after Karakol and one of the densest beach spots on the lake: 95 places to stay in a single village. The largest water park on Issyk-Kul and an amusement park are here, and Cholpon-Ata, with its promenade and cafés, is seven kilometres away.

What people book

More than a third of the listings are houses and cottages — 39 of them: a yard, a barbecue, parking and enough beds for a large group. There are 24 apartments for a couple or a family, with a kitchen of your own, 17 guest houses, plus townhouses, holiday sites and a couple of small hotels. The median rate is around 9,000 som a night, from 500 for a bed to 44,000 for a large house.

What is nearby

The beach strip and the water park are in the village itself; for nightlife and the market people drive to Cholpon-Ata, and for quiet they go west to Chok-Tal and Sary-Oy. Bishkek is about four hours by car, and Issyk-Kul airport at Tamchy is half an hour away.

What to check before booking

How far it is to the water and whose beach it is — some houses in Bosteri sit well back from the shore. How many beds there are, not rooms. Whether there is a barbecue, a gazebo and parking for several cars. Whether a deposit is required. And whether the water park is open on your dates — in May and September it may be closed.

Booking and payment

You book directly with the host, with no agency fees. Some places are confirmed straight away, others once the host has checked the dates.
