Chok-Tal is a village on the western part of the northern shore, between Bishkek and the resort centre. People come here for a whole house and a quiet beach rather than a promenade with cafés: of the 59 listings, 40 are houses and cottages. The median rate is about 12,000 som a night — that is for a house, not a room.

What people book

Houses with a yard, a barbecue and parking are the main format, taken by a family or a group for several days. There are eight apartments and five guest houses for couples, plus townhouses and a holiday site. Prices range widely — from 800 som for a bed to 49,000 for a large house for a group.

What is nearby

It is about 20 kilometres to Cholpon-Ata with its promenade, petroglyph museum and market, and a little further to the water park in Bosteri. Neighbouring Sary-Oy is a couple of kilometres away. From Bishkek, Chok-Tal is closer than the resort centre: the drive takes about three and a half hours.

What to check before booking

How many beds there are and how they are split between rooms. How far it is to the water and whether the beach is shared. Whether there is a barbecue, a gazebo, a sauna and parking for several cars. Whether the house is heated out of season and whether a deposit is required.

Booking and payment

You book directly with the host, with no agency fees. Some places are confirmed straight away, others once the host has checked the dates. Meiman holds your prepayment until you check in and passes it to the host only afterwards; the rest you pay on arrival. You can pay by card or by QR. In July and August the houses go two to four weeks ahead.
