An apartment at the lake is either a flat in a resort complex by the water or an ordinary town apartment in Karakol. Meiman lists 127 of them. They are taken by travellers who want a kitchen and a flexible check-in but neither a sanatorium with meal plans nor a whole house with a yard.

Where to look

Karakol has the most — 26: it is a town rather than a resort, so prices hold steady all year and the trekking routes and the ski base are close. On the northern shore: Bosteri 24, Sary-Oy 22, Chok-Tal 19 — mostly flats in gated complexes with beach access. Cholpon-Ata has only nine; guest houses dominate there.

What it costs

The median rate is about 9,000 som a night, ranging from 2,500 to 33,000. In July and August the northern shore is pricier and booked earlier; Karakol is less seasonal, and in winter the ski base keeps demand up.

What to check before booking

For a flat in a complex — whether it has its own beach and whether that is included, whether the pool runs on your dates, and whether parking is charged. For a town apartment in Karakol — heating and hot water in winter. And how many beds there are: listings often quote rooms, not beds.

Booking and payment

You book directly with the host, with no agency fees. Some places are confirmed straight away, others once the host has checked the dates. Meiman holds your prepayment until you check in and passes it to the host only afterwards; the rest you pay on arrival. You can pay by card or by QR.
