Cottages and houses at Issyk-Kul

Issyk-Kul is where renting a whole house makes the most sense: your own yard, a barbecue, parking and as many beds as the group needs. This is the largest selection of cottages on Meiman — from small places for four to houses that sleep twenty.

The northern shore

The main beach strip runs through Bosteri, Cholpon-Ata, Chok-Tal, Sary-Oy, Kara-Oy and Baktuu-Dolonotu. This is where most of the houses are, with the shortest walk to the water — and the highest prices and occupancy in July and August. Cholpon-Ata is the busiest point with a promenade and cafés; Bosteri and Chok-Tal are quieter and cheaper with the same beach.

The southern shore and Karakol

Ton, Tosor and Kadzhi-Say are quieter, cheaper and closer to the mountains — the choice if you want the lake without the crowds and day trips into the gorges. In Karakol houses are rented all year: trekking in summer, the ski base in winter.

What to check before booking

How many beds there are, not rooms; how far it is to the water; whether there is a barbecue, a gazebo or a sauna; how the house is heated outside the season; whether a deposit is required and whether pets are allowed. Ask the host in the chat before paying — that is normal practice here.

When to book and how to pay

In July and August houses go two to four weeks ahead, earlier for weekends and holidays. May, June and September are noticeably cheaper and emptier. You book directly with the host: some houses are confirmed straight away, others once the host has checked the dates. Meiman holds your prepayment until you check in and passes it to the host only afterwards; the rest you pay on arrival. You can pay by card or by QR.
