Kyrgyzstan is a mountain country in Central Asia, known for Lake Issyk-Kul, the Tian Shan trekking routes and a nomadic culture that is still lived rather than staged. Meiman lists over 1,600 places across the country: hotels in the cities, guest houses in the mountain towns, yurt camps on the summer pastures, cottages along the lake shore and apartments for longer stays.
Hotels are available in every major city and resort area, from business properties in Bishkek to lakeside sanatoriums. Guest houses are family-run, with breakfast, home food and help arranging transfers and guides — the standard format in Karakol and in rural areas. Yurt camps run from late May to September, most of them at Song-Kul and around Issyk-Kul. Apartments are short-term rentals, mainly in Bishkek and Osh, useful for longer stays or if you want your own kitchen.
Issyk-Kul is the summer destination and the largest supply in the country: beaches on the northern shore, hot springs and resort hotels. Bishkek is the capital and the usual starting point, busy all year round. Karakol in the east is the base for trekking in the Terskey Ala-Too and for the ski season. Osh, the southern capital, is the gateway to the Pamir Highway and Uzbekistan. Song-Kul, the high-altitude lake reached from Naryn and Kochkor, is where most travellers spend a night in a yurt.
You book directly with the host — no agency fees, no charge for a viewing, no hidden mark-up. A chat opens right after booking, so check-in time, parking, transfers and extras are arranged with the host.
A booking is a request to the host: some properties confirm it right away, others are confirmed by the host after checking the dates. Once it is confirmed, you pay a deposit: Meiman holds it until you check in and only then passes it to the host; the rest is paid on arrival. QR is the dominant payment method in Kyrgyzstan and works through any local bank app; cards are accepted as well and are the usual option for international travellers.
